This won't be what you want to hear but.....

I have to use Westpac software that only runs on WinCrap. I use windows
emulation and windows still crashes/freezes/etc but at least I have the
satisfaction of proving to myself once per week that I have made the right
choice in software for everything else!

MEANTIME.... I wonder if it would be worth somebodies while to write some
nice simple accounting software to suit aussies. I for one would pay a
reasonable price for it. 

Just imagine.. something in perl that you could modify fairly easily to do
EXACTLY what you want, instead of what some pointy head decides suits
every small business in Australia. Is that just a dream?
