You can order install media only copies for about $20 from www.everythinglinux.com.au. There are distinct advantages to using Debian but these aren't likely to be apparent to a beginer and the install process with the alternatives I mention is much easier. In fact they aren't obvious to me and I continue to happily use Redhat after 4 years.
