Sorry about this guys, I have found a little problem 
when I drop ppp0 so that it's my eth2 is going out to
the internet I have found that the default route is
not being added during the dhcp connection. I get the
following error

eth2: Host name lookup failure

It appears to me that the default gateway is not being loaded
because the system thinks it's not part of that network
is my assumption correct?
