My point is I have a NON VoIP router and want to use VoIP with iiNet naked DSL package. I thought it might be an option to get such a phone instead of a VoIP capable router and then hook my old dodgy phone onto it (or buy a cordless one on top of the new router). And I just wanted to have the least number of gadgets to hide from my misses! The encryption is not a problem, I want to keep it up for my WLAN and not drop it cause of the phone. But this is all solved by iiNet not providing nacked DSL where I live... :-( Quote: "Unfortunately your premises is not connected to a telephone exchange that is part of the iiNetwork which means we are unable to supply you with Naked DSL." see here http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1009134 as well.
