Calling it GNU is not going to help anything. What the community needs is actual contribution in terms of code, documentation, artwork, legal advice and even funds for potential legal battles. Calling the system GNU/Linux or Stallmanix or TheRealUltimateOS won't change the fact that MS will continue to spread FUD. What they will do is probably change all references to Linux to GNU/Linux in their MS Word document using a global search and replace function and continue with the patent claims.
Read everything again, by saying this i doubt you see the point here. So its explainable for you to label it 'no point', which you can't see. Nobody say this is going to be the only way out nor it will solve every single problem with 1 name calling. I dunno where you make that assumption from. I just thought it is merely an idea and which possibility go concurrent with every other efforts, which we and everyone else is contributing. I thought if in a place where everyone is open minded we can discuss issues nicely, and indeed appreciated many useful comments made, but not all.
