I always write 'GNU/Linux'. When speaking, sometimes I rather say GNU,

Not agree.
In my understanding GNU/Linux is either the kernel alone or a distro
which uses GNU packages only.
For example, Ututo:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ututo (endorsed by the fsf and based on Gentoo)
_is_ indeed GNU/linux.
The full list of GNU/Linux (and not only Linux. FreeDOS, etc as well)
is on the official website:
http://www.gnu.org/links/links.html#FreeGNULinuxDistributions
This meas no skype/joost for these guys by philosophy.

The rest of distros should _not_ be called GNU/Linux.
For example, Gentoo by itself is not, because it includes hundreds of
not GNU licensed packages. Even worst, some of packages (nvidia/ati
drivers) are proprietary/free-but-closesource software. Here is the
full list of licenses used in that distro:
http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/licenses/

btw, this thread is not new. Here is link on FSF and alternate views
on GNU-NOT-GNU subject:
