as said earlier, only those who believe in the free software movement
will be pushing for the naming of GNU/linux. The average systems admin
who is running the os because of stability and security will not
really care about software freedom. For them, running linux is just
something that is part of the job or because someone higher up in the
company says so. Whether you call it donkeylinux or realultimateos
doesn't matter, they won't give a damn. With all due respect to the
free software group, their effort is commendable.

second thing i will like to mention is that there are a lot of distros
out there that include non free software. Is the GNU group willing to
let their name be tagged to such a distro? Won't it go against your
very ideals if a distro call themselves GNU/linux and yet not
represent your ideals? If you ask me, i personally feel that only pure
free software distros deserve to have the GNU title tagged to it.
Having non free software in a GNU system kinda defeat the whole
ideology right?

the very reason why this os is still call linux is because no one else
bother about the naming besides the people from GNU. I can safely bet
that the naming won't change by the time this thread is done.
