But from the description it is based one a third-party
server, likely residing somewhere else, which stores all my passwords.
Not something I would think secure.

Also, I don't understand how that service works yet. if I am in captive
mode, how can a remote web-server provide login services?

I don't see any local services on their list yet, though presumably one
could use Starhub's Wireless Broadband as it allows Boingo logins, but
then one would need a Boingo account and actually pay..
