More background… The reason a problem has developed is this:   I previously had a router with DHCP server between the DSL Modem and first APPO. I had the second APPO plugged into a LAN port on the D-Link, along with a Vonage ATA in another LAN port. Several computers connected to the D-Link wirelessly. The computers and ATA got DCHP info from the first router. The D-Link had DHCP disabled and nothing in the WAN port (it was acting as a switch rather than a gateway).   The router plugged into the DSL modem died (damn Linksys BEFSR41). So I plugged the first APPO directly into the DSL modem. I wanted to plug other APPO into the WAN port of the D-Link and turn on it’s DHCP server. The Vonage phone works or the computer can browse the Internet.   Furthermore, if I plug the remote APPO into a LAN port of the router, and the ATA into another LAN port, the ATA can get a WAN address and work fine.   I could plug the router directly into the DSL modem and see if it works, but that is not practical at this very second.
