I know networking pretty good but some parts of it never really interested me until now that I must use it :-) thanks for the tips on the reading material..

All I'm saying is that if your in this field, SNMP should be an everyday thing. I would recommend the "Networking Essentials" course from Microsoft, it's a great course that teaches you a lot about these things. or even any type of training on basic network management protocols.
