Thanks for the input.  One of the reasons I was going to go with a 5dbi omni
was cause of the Vertical Beam Width. I wanted to get the best possable one
so that the clients within a half a mile can get me.  Also, The reason for
amping was to push out the signal at 36db to power though some of the trees
that are around.
