we've found within a day or two of the install. We think maybe the
ARP entries get out of sync or something like that.

I have seen some strange behaviour that _might_ be caused by overflowed or out of sync MAC forwarding tables. When a single broadcast domain goes beyond a certain size, traffic is not forwarded for new clients. It seems like there isn't a problem as long as there are less than ~50-70 MAC addresses in a single broadcast domain. After we went to a completely routed network, the problem disappeared.

It is difficult to pinpoint the exact number and cause (this problem
might even have been caused by the switches we used and not by a bug
in the sB firmware), because the aP/aPP forwarding tables and aB
MAC<->IP translation tables are not accessible through SNMP.

How many MAC addresses do you have in a single broadcast domain?
