Rudolph,

Someone posted (I believe Earl Camblell) this not to long ago and is about
the same thing I am about to do. Basically without have to track down an
invertor to step down or up all the voltages to DC for your particular
equipment just buy one of those 400-1200 watt DC / AC converters and just
plug in a regular power strip and your done worrying about converting.. Just
plug all you AC plugs from your equipment into the power strip. You will
have to calculate how much power you going to need as far as current draw.
You don't want to use one batteries and a small panel per say and your
equipment is pulling faster then it can recharge the battery.

2 - SB AP Indoor units $323.00
1 - 15 DBi Omni antenns $ 96.00

1 - 12 VDC 200 amp deep cycle marine battery $ 50.00
1 - 65 watt solar panel
$312.00
1 - 6 amp solar controller $ 38.00
1 - R520 outdoor case to house equipment $ 48.00
2 - "N" to "N" pigtails 6 ft 1/2" heliax $ 20.00
1 - RFLinx 500 mw Bidirectional amp $ 110.00
2 - Pigtails for amp to radio and amp to ant. $ 38.00
2 - u-bolts to hold case to tower $ 2.00
1 - Tube of silicon seal $
3.00
1 - 64' Rohn Tower
$600.00
1 - 4 yards cement
$400.00
Misc. stuff ya gotta count....
$100.00

Time... About 3-4 hours to take SB API units out of plastic case and
assemble everything into the weather tight case.
Software ... Air Point Pro Outdoor (yes outdoor) v 1.4j9 in APIndoor units.

Total (Approx) $2183.00

Here is a list of people that sell solar stuff as well that someone else
posted I think it was Mark Koskenmaki

Electro-Comm's prices stagger the imagination.

Backwoods has been in business a long time. They're in Northern Idaho,
and inspite of thier name and somewhat cheesy looking site, I understand
they are one of the better people in the business.

I am thinking of how to cut cost in setting up and maintaining a tower and
to reduce prices I thought about using solar panels and a battery to run my
AP's and switches.

I have looked around and found 12V and 24V batteries but nothing that would
regulate and distribute power to run more than one device.

Does anyone here know where I can find this stuff? Better yet, what are you
using for very isolated installations. (On the top of a mountain)
