Getting it to
recognize the SB gear at 10Mbit wasn't really the
problem. It's mainly
a problem when you connect something
else to the switch
that doesn't run half duplex. There are certain
combinations of gear
that will cause various problems, and the
end result is much
slower speeds than you should be getting.
Those that seem to
have resolved this either bought a managed
switch and stuck it
in place forcing everything plugged into it
to go to 10Mbit Half
Duplex, or they were lucky and didn't see
a problem in the
first place.

Subject: [smartBridges] AP speedsI have 2 APPO about .5 miles away on a 200ft tower with Cell antennas on them. They are connected to a switch(auto sensing) which is connected to an ABI in NEMA enclosure. This set up seems to work great when I am on the tower and connected to the switch with a laptop. I get a full 1.54 in speed tests but when I am about .5 miles away using a API or ABI to connect my speeds barely passes 500k.It looks like once I go through the AP's the speed goes down. Anyone know what may be happening here?I have seen the "switch" posts regarding collision and not recognizing the SB equipment as 10Mbps but I am not sure this is happening because of my experience with the laptop on top of the tower. On another note I would like to find a small and cheap managed switch that I could program to stay at 10mbps.Any information is appreciated.
