I think what he saying that its not a regulation issue. Building a project without an Engineers design puts you the constructor 100% liable for any damages, etc. The insurance company will immediately claim that you did not follow proper engineering standards in the state of construction, and therefore you will not be covered.
Almost all states require a PE stamp on any engineering drawings for construction. Those construction systems that don't have them are "self insured" by nature. As an PE in two states, I know this.... Thats why a PE is both valuable and dangerous. -----Original Message----- From: "Mark Koskenmaki" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Mon, 27 Oct 2003 10:40:43 -0800 Subject: Re: [smartBridges] up & down converters > > The restrictions on the tower depend on height, distance from an > airport, > local zoning, local ordinances, as well as state and county. > > Here, for instance, if I am out of town, and don't build a tower over > 199 > feet, I have almost no regulation. > > A 60 or 80 foot guyed cheap tower costs minimal and isn't regulated > much.... > here. > > > > NEOFAST.NET > North > East > Oregon > FAST > Net > mark(at)neofast.net > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Joe <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Monday, October 27, 2003 9:46 AM > Subject: RE: [smartBridges] up & down converters > > > I was looking at all the costs for building a tower just to get to 1 > point. > To legally build a tower for commercial use in the US is quite high a > $2000 > tower done legally would cost 15-20k.
