It's a generic 2U supermicro rack server. It's enterprise grade gear, so I wouldn't expect something like this. It is getting a little long in the tooth, but still does what I need. I don't think this is a boot order issue, otherwise SmartOS would not have even gotten to the Grub screen. There's something else going on here that I need to keep any eye on. For now, I'm doing to chalk it up to gremlins and hope it was just a fluke deal.
