I thinking of setting up a new SmartOS box used a RAID10 type config for my
zpool. Typically I use raidz{2-3}.
I'm wondering if I'd run into trouble if I did 8x1TB drives setup as
stripped mirrors (4x2TB mirrors) and then added a 1x4TB mirror (2 x 2TB
drives). Ultimately; I want to replace the 1TB drives with 2TB drives, but
the current drives are RE4 drives and still have quite a bit of life in
them. Seems to me that my chances of loosing my zpool wouldn't be any
greater with the single mirror of 2TB drives as it would if I added another
mirror of 1TB drives.
