agreed - perfectly on-topic as far as i'm concerned. i currently have zero invested in any of these cfg management tools, so i'm game to try. ansible interested me because of its python backend, and because it's agent-less (less going on, less to learn, and less to deal with if i don't like ansible for whatever reason). salt at least fits one of those.
smartos isn't the only platform i need to support, though ... i'm also currently managing solaris 10, suse linux, redhat linux, openbsd, and freebsd. any feel for how well salt (and/or ansible) can manage all those platforms? ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Monosij Dutta-Roy" <[email protected]> > To: [email protected], "Nahum Shalman" > <[email protected]> > Cc: "Dewey Hylton" <[email protected]>, "Jamie Alquiza" > <[email protected]>, "Giorgio Valoti" <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, May 27, 2014 6:39:08 PM > Subject: Re: [smartos-discuss] Standalone SaltStack Builds (Re: > smartos/ansible?) > Hi Nahum - This is great.
