We believe the best configurations you can build are the ones we recommend to the JPC itself: the ones listed at http://eng.joyent.com/manufacturing. If you insist on something else, there is a detailed list of supported components from which you can DIY; see http://illumos.org/hcl. If there's a machine you want to use with components that aren't listed, ask your vendor to support illumos and point them to the illumos development mailing lists and illumos.org. If they supported Solaris 10, it may be a modest effort to port their existing software and integrate it into illumos. Porting FreeBSD drivers has also been a path forward in several cases. The best approach will depend on the specifics of the device, existing software, etc. ------------------------------------------- smartos-discuss Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/184463/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/184463/25769125-55cfbc00 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=25769125&id_secret=25769125-7688e9fb Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
