You're referring to RICHMOND-16, which does not affect SDC (nor SmartOS, as far as the kernel is concerned). We have specifically implemented a workaround for this in our GRUB as well as in the kernel. We use these machines ourselves, thousands of them. Trust me, the workaround works. It's also believed that the bug cannot even be induced if you use the firmware settings listed in our specifications. If someone wants to do the work to upgrade the GRUB in the SmartOS template images to the one we use in SDC, that would be great -- and would make the workaround available in SmartOS as well as SDC. The systems listed are the best choice. ------------------------------------------- smartos-discuss Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/184463/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/184463/25769125-55cfbc00 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=25769125&id_secret=25769125-7688e9fb Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
