Come on, we had this. I can ping it, http it, ssh it, whatever it. (You can't, it's hidden behind the firewall from the evil internet). I need more debugging folks. What I've got here sucks :( And the log isn't all that great. Can the fping invocation be wrapped somehow to produce decent logs, e.g. via "tee"? BTW, I already tried IP addresses instead of hostnames. Nada. # ping mailman.charite.de PING mailman.charite.de (141.42.111.222): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 141.42.111.222: icmp_seq=0 ttl=254 time=0.6 ms 64 bytes from 141.42.111.222: icmp_seq=1 ttl=254 time=0.6 ms --- mailman.charite.de ping statistics --- 2 packets transmitted, 2 packets received, 0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max = 0.6/0.6/0.6 ms # ping webmail.charite.de PING webmail.charite.de (193.175.66.249): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 193.175.66.249: icmp_seq=0 ttl=62 time=1.4 ms 64 bytes from 193.175.66.249: icmp_seq=1 ttl=62 time=0.5 ms --- webmail.charite.de ping statistics --- 2 packets transmitted, 2 packets received, 0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max = 0.5/0.9/1.4 ms -- Ralf Hildebrandt (Im Auftrag des Referat V a) [EMAIL PROTECTED] Charite Campus Mitte Tel. +49 (0)30-450 570-155 Referat V a - Kommunikationsnetze - Fax. +49 (0)30-450 570-916 AIM: ralfpostfix -- Unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Help mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archive http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/smokeping-users WebAdmin http://www.ee.ethz.ch/~slist/lsg2.cgi
