Ralf,

Sorry I missed previous messages, but I think you said you were using http.
What I would do is emulate the call to echoping using the command line. This
will tell you if echoping is working or not. If you are using fping you should
to the same thing. I dont have my computer on, but the man pages should give
you an idea of the appropriate command lines.

Second, if these are working (i.e. You get back reasonable responses) then
check the rrd updates by checking the time and trying a manual update. The
command line version of rrdtool should give you some indication as to why the
update isn't working.

If that doesn't cut it then perhaps the graphing isn't working. Again try to
manually built a graph for the last 24 hrs.

Finally use "rrdtool info" at the Command line to check that the db meets
criteria for a successful update and graph (that is Compare the last update
field to the RRDs that do show a graph).

Good luck
Dan

Come on, we had this. I can ping it, http it, ssh it, whatever it.
(You can't, it's hidden behind the firewall from the evil internet).

I need more debugging folks. What I've got here sucks :(
And the log isn't all that great. Can the fping invocation be wrapped
somehow to produce decent logs, e.g. via "tee"?

BTW, I already tried IP addresses instead of hostnames. Nada.
