Yes I want it to remain distinct as you say - and yes I mean User not profile - but I want to be able to access everything everywhere both on the iMac and the external drive alike - I want it to be as if I have 6 different machines accessing everything over a network so to speak.... I can't really have everything I want to work on in the Shared folder can I - seems a bit of fuddle way to achieve this? I mean I have over 700GB of data I would have to have in the shared folder and my iMac is only 260GB!!!!
