Yes I want it to remain distinct as you say - and yes I mean User not
profile - but I want to be able to access everything everywhere both
on the iMac and the external
drive alike - I want it to be as if I have 6 different machines
accessing everything over a network so to speak.... I can't really
have everything I want to work on in the Shared folder can I - seems a
bit of fuddle way to achieve this? I mean I have over 700GB of data I
would have to have in the shared folder and my iMac is only 260GB!!!!

I have just clicked the Ignore Permissions - hadn't noticed that
before - will see if that makes a difference for the external drives -
but that doesn't apply to the user folders though

Not sure what you mean about the remote user set up - It's just that I
might be in my personal user login and want to access files from
another user and don't want to have to switch user or have those files
in the shared folder - I don't want to access another users iCal stuff
- I was refereeing to the splitting of a combined iCal.Mail and
AddressBook data - so that business users have only business data in
and personal only personal - before I had everything together and it's
just got to much for me to cope with and frankly my system by the feel
of it - so this the creation of separate users - thus why I didn't use
Spaces to achieve this - it's not apps used in different spaces I want
it's data by the same apps used in different user logins I was after -
I have this sorted now - was a long winded way roudn to get their but
it's pretty much done really - it;s more about the access to folders I
want to solve and issues of shared libraries for iTunes & iPhoto if
possible

Cheers though
Liam
