Thanks chaps. Perhaps I'm asking the wrong question. What do I want it to
do? (Answers on a postcard please.) Currently any snapshots are stored in
the iPhoto library. I can't see that being a problem, but at the same time
there is no point in using iPhoto to store if I decide to use something else
to manage/manipulate images/libraries.

Perhaps, having iPhoto already, I should stick with that and see what it
doesn't do that I want it to in due course.

PS elements seems to do most of it and is comprehensive as an editing tool
for my purposes I would think. But then Lightroom and Aperture would
probably see me into the next century and of course also have the same
powerful (for a rank amateur like me) editing suite.

Much thought is needed I think.

Thanks again.
