Hi Mike The switch inside the headphone port is stuck, you can dislodge it gently with a match or to connect/disconnect the headphones multiple times.
Under the trackpad is a screw which you can tighten to adjust the sensitivity of the click, a Mac tech can adjust it if that's the issue, otherwise it's a top case replacement.
