Sounds like the trackpad's extremely sensitive, registering clicks even when the mouse is plugged in. If it's an aluminium/unibody MacBook/MacBook Pro, there's a small tri-lobe screw under the battery which you can tighten to adjust the sensitivity of the click.
If it's a plastic MacBook (non-unibody) then you may need a new top-case.
