Yes, if you only want B&W printing then I'm sure a laser printer is going to be much more economical in the long run. Much better for intermittent use too - no ink nozzles to get dried up/clogged, etc.
For printing colour photos etc use a service like Photobox - much more convenient than ink jet printers and guillotines.
