it's still doing it but now it no longer restarts (despite settings) and
does not offer a crash report any more. Where can I find the relevant
section in Console logs before I start the troubleshooting?

happening daily, try taking it to the people who installed the front
ports and get them to disconnect & test.
Have you tried the standard SMC & PRAM resets? Also disconnecting all
USB peripherals and putting the MacPro to sleep?
