If you pick up with the iMac and then it doesn't show on mail2web, that means 
the iMac is deleting from the server. if you view an email on mail2web it 
should still download to the iPhone as long as the iMac hasn't removed it from 
the server. POP connections just download all the new email from the server, 
without checking for read/unread status.

POP clients usually maintain a list of previously downloaded emails so as not 
to download duplicates from the server, but it's not affected by read/unread 
status.

Which email client are you using on the iMac? Are you connecting to the 
mailserver without SSL on port 110 on the iPhone? Have you tried deleting the 
account from the iPhone and setting it up again?
