You can't move anything into a smart mailbox as it is populated by the
conditions you give it such as "All emails from [email protected]". The thread
feature works in a smart mailbox but as I don't use Google mail I'm not sure
how they fit into the scheme of things.

I have several catch all mailboxes into which I move my emails and then use
smart mailboxes to show me unread emails this week, emails today, emails from
certain people or in a certain address book groups or combinations thereof -
it's very flexible. If you are running Lion then both kinds of mailboxes can be
dropped into the toolbar and you can just drag emails into standard mailboxes
to file them which is very handy for frequently used mailboxes.

Regards,

Stephen

Homosexuality is found in over 450 species.

Homophobia is found in only one.
