Thanks Stephen... and if I set up such a folder, do you know how it works
over IMAP?

I mean, if it's in my inbox, I can also see it in GMail in my browser.

If I set up a local folder on my Mac, move a message to it from my inbox,
is it still there in GMail in my browser?

Do you know?
