Hi Sam, 

Thank you! I discovered that my last backup in iTunes was 2015. I then checked 
settings on my iPhone and discovered that it wasn't set to backup to iCloud. 
(Yikes). Just remedied that and I've now done a successful backup. 

To reset the phone do l choose 'Reset All Settings?'
