Interesting, not had freezes. Just the daily crash-restart (seems to be something to do with external disks ie Time Machine or not). As you say, they're still finding the quirks.

Since I'm using Filemaker Pro a lot it's really annoying as I have to quit it frequently to prevent corruption. [Almost the only thing I have been doing reliably since 1997 on a computer is wishing Filemaker Pro didn't have an auto-save function that leads to corruption if the machine tanks. Plus ca change...]

happy weekend, when it comes, everyone.

I have a client with an M1 MacMini running InDesign and it freezes daily at least once, Apple are replacing it but I suspect there are bugs to be worked out yet.

There do seem to be a few random bugs associated with the M1 Mac Mini (such as random restarts about once a day, another irritant). Next time it pops up I will be sure to write it down, but I'm sure it said software update (and iCloud seems to be behaving, but perhaps they are related).

Jason,

I remember having this irritant on our M1 mac mini. What I can't recall
is how we disappeared it. I think had something to do with iCloud
asking for password but I may be confused as at the time I was trying
to get the Mac mini running from an external SSD.

I'll check my notes later today to see if i noted what I'd done.

Hi folks,

It seems that every day I get a very simple dialog box asking for my
admin password for Software update (M1 Mac mini). I don't have a
screenshot (until tomorrow!) but it's starting to annoy me, though
not
to the point of turning off auto update. Does anyone know how to make
it
remember or is this the new normal?

Cheers,

Jason
