The problem isn't so much her calling for UN involvement, as you say lots
of folks are doing that. The problem is that she went to a war zone, and by
her words gave encouragement to the enemy.

If you have employees on your farm, and you are in a cut throat competition
with a neighboring farm you are going to want your employees to work hard as
they can and you are going to want to avoid doing anything that may give
your competition reason to believe you are weak in certain areas. Let's say
your hay baler is a little lazy and can only bale 5 bales a day, where your
competition has a guy who can do 8 bales a day. You don't want him to know
that because he will exploit that weakness.

What Hillary did was go to Iraq, and tell the enemy that the US is weak in
certain areas. She said point blank if we don't get UN involvement we won't
be able to protect our forces.

So, they know that we are weak in certain areas of security. It's probable
they already knew it, but it makes a difference to have a high ranking
leader confirm it for you.

So by saying what she did, while in Iraq, she gave the enemy encouragement.

I don't see how it is *any* different from what Jane Fonda did.

I thought that Bush wanted more UN involvement too.
I was under the impression that the UN just wasn't cooperating. There are a
lot of countries that *are* helping... I think Italy, Spain and South
Korea... those are the ones that surprised me anyway... and of course GB. I
am sure that there are many more.

IMO. Hillary carried herself off as a typical politician and did not commit
any major sins with her statements given todays political climate. Bottom
line... I don't think that her trip the Mid East was comparable to Jane
Fonda's antics during Vietnam.
