I would second the suggestion that you look at Pelican cases. I have used these things all over the world to carry equipment on rough trips. They are THE benchmark standard for carrying delicate equipment on expedition. That said, I have been using the regular JR aluminum cases for years and have never had a problem. And they are basically the same as the aluminum "attache cases" that you find at Home Depot, only smaller.
