Sprint's coverage maps aren't as detailed as Verizon's so sometimes
it's hard to tell exactly what they cover. I've seen reports at
evdoforums.com that the maps are not up-to-date and that there is
coverage in areas where the maps don't show any. Some have reported
that's also true of Verizon.

The maps show that Verizon has coverage in Barstow, Laughlin, along
the 15 on both sides of the CA-NV border and in Mesquite while Sprint
does not.

Sprint shows coverage in Pahrump, Reno-Sparks, Carson City and South
Lake Tahoe while Verizon does not.

http://www.evdoforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=1235 reports that Sprint
averages significantly faster on downloads, which Verizon is a little
faster on uploads.
