Got a laptop, that I have configured to use as a data
logger, and periodic FTP uploads to a website
( Solar power inverter monitor & logging )
http://tinyurl.com/fa5qj

Problem I'm having is after some period of time, the
wireless link gets lost, and locks up. This has been
happening with 3 different adapters:
PCCARD wireless
internal USB to a wireless dongle (linksys)
PCCARD USB adapter - hub - wireless dongle (Airlink)

There are no nearby routers that have any usable
power, they are barely detectable, link to my router
is strong and steady. Other wireless PC's in the
house never seem to be loosing connection (6
connections total)

I've set the devices I can find in XP's device
manager, to not power the USB hub down, and I'm using
a flash drive on a hub, to log the data, and letting
the internal HDD spin down. Data logs thru the hub to
flash drive always, the USB port is staying on as
requested.

Screen and HDD are set to go off after 10 min.
Sleep is NEVER

Wireless stays up for an hour to several, and then
seems to get shut down, and usually, only a reboot
will reliably restart it. Safely removeing a dongle,
and re-inserting it only works about 25% of the time.
Suggestions on how to configure, or what I missed in
the laptop setup?

Mike
