Whats described there within section "zoom" is what we are actual doing.

I took some screen shots of a broadcast which is 4:3 aspect with encoded
black bars (letterboxed video). It is displayed via xv-out in a 1024x576 window.

The initial crop mode is none, so I get black borders on all 4 sides.

Now when I select cropmode 16:9, the corresponding 16:9 part of that
video is taken and displayed in the whole area of the window.

So I've a small problem in understanding what might be wrong in
our zoom/crop-modes.
