Hey all,

It has been a couple months since we first announced http://Clara.io,
I figured it was time for an update. While there are lots of
improvements (over 1000 improvements and fixes since July), I figured
I would share two that are relevant to the Softimage community.

First, we have put a fair bit of work into our FBX importer so that it
is fast and robust. It is at least on par with the Maya and 3DS Max
FBX importer with support for bones, multiple UVs, embedded textures,
keyframes, and a lot more.

Second, we have just finished this week is the ability to take your
Clara.io scenes and embed them in web pages similar to how you can
embed Vimeo or YouTube scenes.

Together the high quality FBX import along with the web player make it
possible to take your creations from Softimage (wohoo!) and push them
to the web and put them in websites, opening up new avenues for
delivering content. We are currently taking feature requests for new
player modes so that we can meet everyone's needs here.

Here are two scenes that we imported from FBX and make viewable in our player:

Ducati bike

Lamborghini

And with the Clara.io editor it is really easy to achieve the WebGL
look you want without having to do repeated exports from your desktop
tool of choice trying to get an import to look just right.
