It works very well under windows, in fact, it makes quite a lot of sense for small studios to use it under windows instead of linux.
Running it on Mac is an option although there are a few glitches regarding the viewport that will soon be fixed (SideFX are working on it as we speak) so I would imagine it will be more or less the same experience on all 3 environments.
