so whose decision was it to kill Softimage then? perhaps was the same decision maker that moved entire Softimage development departments AWAY from Softimage and onto other projects immediately on acquisition.
bullshit about killing Softimage because of 3 apps to develop. why buy in the first place then. A sure fire way to lessen amount of development staff 'hassles' of keeping modern approaches and innovating is 'competition' and if not happy with spending this time and effort , much simpler for Adsk is to buy it and kill it. there really ought to be some kind of EU laws against this when folks livelihoods and sheer amount of years spent behind the wheels of Softimage are at stake.
