The stupidest thing about it, is that a proportion of SI users , used to ICE, will now move to Applications that provide Similar power and speed of tool iteration such as Houdini and fabric. It's not directly about the money. Want to see Houdini become the best solution at high end characters? What better than to give SideFx a sudden influx of ex SI users. If AD wanted to do anything to accelerate the speed of progress and give developing funds to the competition this is it. AD arent gaining users, you're losing them. You had us by the balls anyway and we were paying you. All you'll be saving is a relative pittance on the few developers you kept assigned to Softimage.
