also has very unique (never before seen) "best of both CPU/GPU worlds" qualities.

Not only in terms of it's (optionally) "biased" approach
(allowing for -some- visually acceptable or unperceivable approximations, making it even more quite-a-bit-faster ;)
but also in regards to it's seamless ability to bypass otherwise pretty restraining GPU memory limits,
(usually) being characteristic of pretty-much any traditional GPU renderer.

You can render entire intricately detailed cities, forests, ants in a grass jungle or whatever,
(also allowing the use of dynamically loaded proxies) and it'll just take it. (duuude!)

MotionBlur, Hair, are already there, and support for other things just keeps on coming.

Enough that I've been afraid that all of this would somehow "get to their heads",
but even after all those (non-stop) accomplishments,
they have remained very humble, approachable and down to earth,
and have indeed been known to *authentically listen and consider*,
which is very promising and encouraging if not really refreshing.
( also creating a mind-bogglingly stark contrast with particular philosophies entrenched in vast segments of the industry, in regards to what may be promoted to be prioritary)

Even that I would hope (if not request) that they would remain as accessible as possible for Softimage,
(perhaps not as in a bold way as what Fabric did but..)
to provide a certain (well needed or deserved) "edge", in light of certain recent events.

But in any event, all that, along with the fast development of their fast renderer for such a small team, 
and how it (further) makes SI like a "secret super-enabler", already makes them almost like "godsent angels" in these troubled times lol =)

That being said I do like the end result you can get in arnold better. This is purely a personal and very subjective thing.

Just started playing with Octane 1.5 the (stand alone one)and so far enjoying it. Need to get more alembic animations to test on. ;)
