The situation is completely different here and what he's saying is true - producing hardware with $75m + change was going to be a big compromise vs what is possible with significant funding. This should also mean a reduction in the price of CV1, which should lead to wider adoption. Adoption of what exactly is a bit of a concern - if they're allowed to stay focused on what they've been doing, it could end up being interesting. I'm unimpressed with what has happened to the kickstarters and I think they should be offered refunds. But the reality of this deal is that facebook _could_ screw it up, or they could turn OR into something phenomenal - I'll wait for some more public info before condemning them outright.
