I'm finding the deformer weights export super finicking and just mind boggling. You export to a file. That file is xml. It also contains the full path to the file itself and uses it somehow when importing. If you rename / move the file you're pretty screwed unless you manage to fix the internals of the file. Ugh... fail, but usable I guess?
