Not much of a comfort, but I feel your pain. I had the very same hopes about a
year ago but ended up re-partition the hard drive and installed bootcamp and
then parallels as well. This enables you to run Softimage in OSX/Parallels if
just need to “check” something or switch to bootcamp if you plan on actually
working.

Cheers

OK I did have bootcamp running but needed to re-partition my hard drive so
thought of trying out parallels. Now I wish I hadn't .

Hi Chris,

No. Softimage runs “just fine” on Parallels and win7 (64bit). Please note that
Windows will not have direct access to your graphic card, but will rely on
Parallels graphic drivers. This may or may not be a problem for you. I’ve
experienced a fair share of glitches and problems with the viewport interaction
in Softimage, so if you plan on “actually working” in Softimage I’d recommend
biting the bullet and run bootcamp.

Cheers
Ola
