Not much of a comfort, but I feel your pain. I had the very same hopes about a year ago but ended up re-partition the hard drive and installed bootcamp and then parallels as well. This enables you to run Softimage in OSX/Parallels if just need to “check” something or switch to bootcamp if you plan on actually working.
