FWIW, I've been running Softimage under Parallels for more than 3 years.
I also am booting my boot camp Windows partition via Parallels, but I'm
having a hard time believing that Soft would refuse to work inside a
"normal" Parallels installation.
You are running Windows 7 *SP1* *(x64)* though, right? If not, then that
might be your actual issue here.
