for a network floating license the “feature” is obviously just to keep you on subscription however for the user the licensing system does all the work it should do, it only allows you to use the number of licenses you purchased, whether that be version 1 or the latest, really “should” make no difference to Autodesk (in theory, from a $ stand point, that is a different story). All in all it is a very shady business practice.
