I used to run W0RLI BBS software on a S-100 machine running CP/M. The tape boot loader would then run the software off of 8" Floppy drives. I could hear when a floppy was starting to give. It was time to replace with a backup.

I thought I was the cats meow when I got a Xerox 820 motherboard.

After we did that, then it would load the program off of a paper tape spool. No thanks, I'll stick with todays technology.
