I second Kerry on this. Power SDR is probably a more competent software
but I have on and off tried to get it to work and I can say for sure
that if Power SDR would have been the only software out there I would
never been using the Softrocks for anything more than a toy.

I have a bit over 200 QSO'n logged on my Softrocks and they are my
primary radio. I have a TS-520 but I rarely use it. I started with M0KGK
but when Alex included straight key support I switched to Rocky.

I tried many times to get PowerSDR to work and it is quite easy to make
it receive but I have yet to figure out the user interface and I can't
make the side tone behave even decent. I tried tonight to re-install and
again try to configure it but no luck so far. It sends and receive but
the delay on the side tone makes it useless for anything over 5 wpm for
me. Some day I might get it right but my life is to short to spend hours
with unproductive configuration exercises. Maybe someday someone publish
a settings guide that will make it work for me but until then I will
stay with Rocky.

Unless you are going for SSB I really recommend you to start with Rocky.
The only thing I had to do was to go in to the sound panel and check and
un-check the line in mute checkbox each time I re-boot my computer.

I run the 6.2 RX/TX, (have three of them), Soundblaster live 24 in a
Dell Precision Dual Xenon 2.8GHz machine.
